For those of you who are not in the UK (or are living in a band induced bubble) the Christmas number one, this year (outselling the main competitor 6 to 1 and selling more than record numbers 2 - 12 combined) is the fantastic military wives choir. This choir has been put together in 2011 from the wives of active service men as a way to support each other while their husbands were on tour in Afghanistan. After their performance in to the Remembrance Day Tribute Concert in November, they launched the song as a charity single. The words are composed from various letters and poems they have been writing to and received from their partners.
It is without a doubt, one of the most moving things I have ever seen and reminds me how grateful I should be that all the people I love are safe, especially at Christmas. I hope your loved ones are too.
