Diet coke.

Since my dietician said two weeks ago that fizzy drinks are ok, I refrained, scared maybe, from trying. Tonight I have had half a glass. The good fizzy stuff. My teeth are tingling and I have been gurgling away ever since. It's very odd. It was good but I don't love it anymore. It's been at least 9 1/2 months since my last carbonated soft drink and although I missed them and the convenience, I am not sure I'll be rushing back.
So you soda drinkers out there, what is it about these drinks that gets your juices going? Do you get this gurgling feeling too?

I don't gurgle, but I also don't drink it straight from the can/bottle. I either pour it over ice and let it flatten out a bit, or drink it after it has been open for a while. Although people probably think I drink a lot of Mt. Dew when they read my posts, the truth is that I only drink an ounce or two at a time of it...but I do still love it :)

I say what RockBand Barbie said. I can't drink from a can or from a bottle. I will burp and burp and burp. I've found that fountain drinks are generally ok, but I rarely have soda.

Hmm... I only have gurgling when I sip straight from the can. Like RBB, I usually let it settle over ice for a few minutes to try and avoid that.

I do love a good vodka diet, but other than the (maybe) two drinks per month I have, I'll drink one can per month combined. I can only drink about 1/2 of one at a time, so it's not really a slippery slope. Especially because it burns a little going down!

And I don't believe that you don't sound like Mary Poppins. hehe, jk jk.

I love the fizziness and the tingly sweet taste of all those artificial sweeteners, lol. I love Diet Coke and Diet Sunkist/Crush over lots of ice. But lately it's been so hot, nearly 100 degrees every day, and all I've been wanting is endless ice water!

I don't know about anyone else but after reading this post and comments now I want a fizzy drink!

The chemicals in the 'diet' coke make me run for the hills but a real coke OMG how I mourned for it but I have been taking little risks here and there - lots of ice - a tiny bit of coke and then :( water... yes water takes the fizz out but I really think the fizz holds most of the flavour. Yes now I want coke - mmmmm... As I get riskier I will try some right out of a can - HA - NO I won't - there's a bandster on here who had pop/soda and was in pain for months - we'll on that note - happy pop/soda drinking!!!

Soda is just the sweet, heavenly nectar from the Gods. That's what entices me. However, carbonation gives me TERRIBLE pain...that lasts for days even with just 20 ozs. So I refrain completely. It's not always easy but the pain can get to be unbearable.

I haven't had soda in years. I take the occasional sip from hubbies when I crave a zip of carbonation... but that is pretty rare. I am a tea girl. Green tea, iced tea, chai tea. Yum.

I used to freaking drink a bath tub of Diet. Mt. Dew a day, then I quit for so long. No caffeine or sodas at all. Now i'm back to drinking one can a day, but am trying to break up with the crack juice. I've tried flavored sparkling water and it's way good. And better than you!
I say, if you quit, don't start back up!
